Week 18 – Sunset in Ponder, Texas

This week’s FotoFriday52 photo is from a quick drive up FM 156. The sky was blue all day, with not a single cloud in the sky. I wanted to drive up to a little town just north of us called Ponder, to get some sunset shots behind the old town buildings. David and I jumped in the car at the last minute and drove north. As we were getting closer and closer to the town, we watched the sun go further and further down. Just as we crossed the “Ponder City Limits” sign, we knew that our opportunity to get any sunset shots were quickly fading. About that time, we drove past this scene – a typical Texas prairie with cattle grazing. And although there had been no clouds in the sky all day, this beautiful scene is what we found! (Shot in 3 bracketed exposures and processed in HDR through Photomatix Pro.)
